There are 3 groups of verbs in Spanish: group 1 - transitive verbs (can only accept direct objects), group 2 - intransitive verbs (no direct object required), and group 3 - verbs that can be both transitive and intransitive. * Escuchar (to listen) requires a direct object (música). Always remember to answer the question what? or who? when you want to know if a verb is transitive. ¿Qué escucho? Escucho música. ¿A quién esucho? Esucho a Juan.
